Dr. Veronika Maass

Bio

Veronika was born and raised in Hungary. After earning her degree in Physical Therapy, she followed her passion of rock climbing, sports medicine and traveling with working as a physical therapist in Germany. As a lifelong learner she came to the US in 2000 to participate in an international fellowship program in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) which led her to find her new home in Seattle. She later completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Montana. Veronika utilizes the latest research in guiding her clinical approach to treating patients of all ages from youth to elderly with cutting edge techniques to restore structural and muscular imbalances, deactivate stress responses, with an integrated whole-body approach.

She invites her patients to be active participants in this journey with teaching self-assessment, self-treatment strategies to help with managing/abolishing the symptoms to allow them reach their prior functional level and beyond, as well as prepare to prevent reinjury. Her areas of clinical expertise include spinal injuries, jaw pain, post-surgical care, overuse injuries, car accidents, work injuries, sport injuries (runner, biker, skier, rock climber, swimmer, team sports, dancer, musician) balance-vestibular issues, chronic pain and concussion. Veronika’s personal interest and professional skill set combine results with great achievements with rock climbing injuries and youth sport injuries including concussion.

Her experience having trained in performing arts and various sport coaching such as rock climbing, archery, basketball, swimming and ultimate frisbee has made her gain a different perspective as a coach, parent and patient.  In her free time, Veronika is actively coaching her kids sport teams (basketball, ultimate frisbee and archery) and enjoy with her family the great outdoors should that be Magnuson Park or the Cascade Mountains with mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, rafting, skiing, sailing, drumming and belly dancing.
