Dr. Spencer Matt

Bio

Dr. Spencer Matt earned his B.S. in Kinesiology at Washington State University in 2020 (Go Cougs!) and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 2023. He is particularly interested in helping athletes safely return to their desired sports, but also loves helping patients from all different backgrounds get back to doing the things they love without being limited by pain. Spencer believes that building a strong therapist-patient relationship is essential to providing effective care because people should be treated as individuals, not diagnoses.

Spencer knew he wanted to become a physical therapist ever since he was a high school basketball player who spent multiple years as a patient recovering from major knee surgeries. Having experience as a patient prior to becoming a therapist has served him well in his ability to work effectively with athletes who are apprehensive about their return to competition.

Spencer grew up in Spokane, WA and has always maintained an active lifestyle. He loves to lift weights, play golf, and play pickleball in his free time. During his downtime, he enjoys watching movies and spending time with his two cats and chinchilla.
